Q: How do I schedule a photographer to come to my school?
A: To schedule a candid or portrait photographer at your school, you can either contact School Relations at (800) 682-2704 or schoolrelations@lorsstudio.com. You can also contact your studio representative.

Q: Can I request a specific photographer?
A: Yes. If there is a photographer who you have become comfortable with, you can request him/her for an assignment.

Q: Do you send CDs or full size prints of all the pictures taken?
A: All candid photographs are taken digitally and all images are sent to the school on CD. This eliminates the need to examine and order pictures from small proofs. If you require hardcopy photographs instead of a disk, please notify our School Relations Department in advance of the event. If prints are requested they will be sent as color 4x6 prints.

Q: Can Lors work with us on special ideas we may have for our yearbook?
A: With the technology we have available, the digital imaging possibilities are endless. From photos on disk to smoothly blended composites, you can let your imagination run wild. Your studio representative can work with you to develop creative concepts that tie in with your theme.

Q: Do you offer photography workshops for the yearbook staff?
A: Absolutely. We can arrange seminars and workshops to help improve the quality of the student photos in the yearbook. Students can also use the "Tips" section of our web- site to get helpful hints on many areas they might be interested in.

Q: Can you provide student portraits on CD-ROM?
A: There are two types of photo CDs that we can provide. One is for the administration, and allows them to import the student's photos directly into your school's attendance/guidance software. The other is a publisher’s CD, which enables the yearbook staff to send the portrait pictures directly to the publisher without having to tag, sort, or identify individual photos.

Q: When will the students receive their underclass picture packages, and how will they be sorted when they arrive?
A: The default sort order is alphabetically for each class.  If you wish to receive the photo packages sorted in any other way, such as alphabetically by homeroom, you must send us the data and sort criteria at least 4 weeks prior to the shoot.

Q: How long does it take for the seniors to receive their proofs and/or packages?
A: Senior proofs are shipped approximately 2 weeks after their photos session. Finished packages are mailed to their homes approximately 8 weeks after final payment is made.

ADMINISTRATORS

Q: Can we get a CD with all of the students’ images for our school’s software?
A: We can provide you with a CD of all students photographed during your Undergraduate portrait days.  The CD can be formatted to fit the specifications of most school attendance/guidance computer programs.  Contact your Lors representative or our School Relations Department to request this service.

Q: Does your studio provide ID cards / security badges for the students and staff?
A: Yes. ID cards can be custom designed to your specifications, color-coded by grade or bar-coded for library and lunch room purposes.

Q: How long does it take to receive our administrative CD and/or ID cards?
A: Your administrative CD will be shipped approximately 2 weeks after each picture session. ID cards are typically shipped within 10 days.

PROM ADVISORS

Q: Does your studio provide free invitations, favors, programs, etc.?
A: We offer a wide variety of complimentary items, including invitations, programs, and favors as part of our prom package. Schools can choose to order from our prom planner, or receive a donation/credit to the class if they decide to order elsewhere. Quantities are dependent on prom size.

Q: When will I receive my prom planner and when should I place my order?
A: Prom planners are shipped to the schools at the end of January allowing the students ample time to select the items they want to order. We ask that orders be placed at least 8 weeks prior to the prom.

Q: What type of backdrops do you provide for prom pictures?
A: Your Lors representative and our Design Department will work with you to create a backdrop that matches or compliments your color scheme.  As a rule, we recommend backdrops with muted colors so they do not clash with anyone’s attire or distract from the subject.

Q: How many photographers will be at our prom?
A: Our standard policy is to provide one photographer for every 60 couples being photographed. However, there are times when we are limited by the amount of space that we are provided. So please be sure to make the appropriate arrangements with your caterer.

Q: How do you handle delivery of prom pictures?
A: Student package prices include shipping directly to the students' homes. They should receive their packages approximately 2-3 weeks after the prom.
